Welcome to the blog of Little London Bakery.

The idea of starting a bakery came to us while we were on a 7 months holiday. We sat in our bungalow in a Cambodian beach town called Sihanoukville and decided to start a small English pie bakery once we were back in Europe. As we travelled to more cities and countries so did we find new ideas and I decided to leave the pies to Lee, I would love to bake and decorate cakes, cookies, cupcakes and other sweet things.

And where does the idea of cakes come from? My first memorable cake was one in a shape of a guitar that I made for my brothers birthday in 2005. Last Christmas we wanted a tasty, home-made cake instead of a shop bought one. So we made a vanilla-chocolate cake covered with marzipan and sugarpaste and we also handmade decorating figurines from sugarpaste. We absolutely loved making this cake and decided that we would make more from then on.

Neither of us is a qualified cook or baker, we simply love making and eating tasty and great looking meals and puddings. I am from a Hungarian town called Fertőrákos, Lee is from London. We are trying to combine the best of both Hungarian and British recipes here in London.

And what can you expect on this blog? We are going to write about and show you pictures of cookies, cakes, decoration, sugarpaste models, chocolate, pies, savoury pastries and lot more.
